It has been a little while since my last post but we have had a few setbacks that needed to be sorted before we could move on. These now thankfully have been put behind us.
We recieved planning approval on the 19th November and can now focus fully on opening. With a build time of 4-6 weeks we are aiming to be open early in the New Year.
As you are aware we are currently offering 1/2 price membership's for anyone who joins on the lead up to opening. As we have laid the foundations for the gym getting up and running I am going to slightly change this offer!!!
Anyone who JOINS on the run up to opening will get the 1/2 price membership. As a bonus for being the building blocks with which we aim to build this club we will GUARANTEE the £25/month for the lifetime of your membership with us!!!

EXTENSION OF THE SPECIAL OFFER!!!!!

We have extended the special offer as the opening has been delayed until december now. If you are interested in taking up the offer please fill in the joining paperwork and send it to me ASAP along with the £25 pound reservation fee so I can get the starter packs sorted.
Please either post the forms or scan, sign and email them to me. If you would like to enclose a cheque thats fine or transfer the money via internet transfer. If you want the latter please let me know and I will send you the details.
(All monies will be guarenteed and returned should the gym not open)

Andover Live!!!
On August 15th 2009 A few members of the Alternative Fitness team got together to do a little promotion work with the opening creeping up ever closer.
In the pictures we have (top picture) - Cath Haines, Nick Marvin, (bottom picture) Darren Stiles all sporting the new trainers uniform. Gemma Hitchins is behind the camera and I myself will make an appearence on here at some point in the near future.

Week 4 Challenge - 6 Aug - 12 Aug
LYNNE
5 rds of:
BODYWEIGHT BENCH PRESS - (Rep to failure each rd)
PULL UPS - (Rep to failure each rd)
Count your reps for the score. Don't forget to post your name/sex/age/weight
Here is a nice simple challenge for this week. Simply put your equivalent weight on a bench press station, line up the pull up bar and go for it. Do each exercise one after the other and rest for as long as it takes to recover after the Pull ups.
Finally I would just like to congratulate ADAM WILES on winning the 3 months free membership for last weeks challenge. WELL DONE!!

Week 1 16 July - 22 July Challenge
Here is the first ALTERNATIVE-FITNESS WOD:
TABATA SOMETHING ELSE -Tabata is an interval training cycle of 20 seconds max effort followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated without pause for a total of 8 rds then move onto the next exercise.
32 consecutive tabata intervals (20 Secs on 10 secs rest) of:
- 8 x Pull ups
- 8 x Push Ups
- 8 x Sit ups
- 8 x Squats
Each rep = 1 Point.
Post your totals and see how you did.

Upcoming Challenges!!
With the Gym Opening moving ever nearer life is getting pretty hectic. I just wanted to thank all the guys and gals who have expressed an interest in joining ALTERNATIVE FITNESS.
